Gem of a place! Needs lots more local support tho'. Quiet both times, but has very pleasant background music. I marked the 4/5 for v quiet atmosphere, though I quite liked it!
Met my husband 🚴🏻‍♂️ for a drink and we decided to stay for tea as it was 'Two for One Tuesday' and the pizzas were UTTERLY delicious and HUGE (£12.50 for TWO😯🥰).
Mine had loads of goat's cheese, not just little blobs and the base was gorgeous.
My husband's chicken pizza was also delicious with plenty of toppings and "perfectly cooked pizza base"
Nothing is too much trouble for the Manager, who is always checking and making sure everyone has what they need.
I even got a pizza box to take the rest of the pizza home 😍
I had an impromptu meal with my sister in-law last Friday night (we were on our way to Mobberley but decided to try The Oakwood). We had the tasty Chicken Schnitzel and lovely Mushroom Risotto, followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding 🥰🥰🥰
The service was so attentive and genuinely friendly. I just don't get why it's quiet.
Come on Wilmslow patrons, support a great local pub so we don't loose this gem. 💎
Dog friendly!!! So many places around Wilmslow are changing their policy on allowing dogs inside, but they're welcomed with open arms here🐾🐾🐾🐾🐶🐾🐾

Popped by for a pizza for dinner. Lad behind the counter was brilliant, even let me borrow a phone charger for a bit. Really great service.

Ordered the veggie pizza, it was ok at best. A bit too greasy for my liking, but had a good quantity of olives as toppings. A bit more finesse would go a long way!

Lovely pub, stopped by last week after a recommendation from a close friend while I was in the area, couldn’t fault the place. Met Really nice young man called George. (Think he might have been the manager) definitely be back, the steak frites were unreal.

This was better than I expected. The menu selection was limited but this may have been because it was Mother’s Day. However, considering how busy they were, the food was cooked perfectly and the service was good - we were a table of 18.
The atmosphere score is because if you are dining without children (we had 6 at our table) beware as this is a child friendly pub and you may feel the noise from children is load.

Fabulous food one of the nicest Fish and Chips I have had in a long time (proper Chips as well) beautiful beer battered cod, lovely friendly staff and Lizzy the new owner, we will return 😊

Omg! Literally ate everyone's leftovers twice now & licked my plate when no-one was looking 🤣👌 THE BEST Sunday roast around I have found yet! Cute puppy & friendly staff ✨️ Even a space for the kids to hang out in their own playroom with a TV! Cannot fault the place!
